The achievements
1968 David became the youngest person ever admitted to
the Society of American Magicians. 1972 At age 17, David
taught the Art of Magic at New York University. 1974 Created
his own illusions in the musical The Magic Man, in which David
played the title role. 1977 David launched his television
career and made “David Copperfield” a household* name. 1979
David tested his acting abilities in the movie Terror Train.
1980 David is the yougest magician ever to be awarded Magician
of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts. 1981 David
received the Entertainer of the Year Award, given by the
American Guild of Variety Artists. 1982 “Project Magic” was
started, which uses magic as physical therapy* to strengthen
dexterity*. 1984 David became the first magician to get a
long-term contract at the world-famous Ceasar’s Palace in Las
Vegas. 1986 David’s TV special taped in China was the first
American production team to do a live TV special from China.
1994 “Flying” was considered to be the greatest illusion ever
staged. 1995
David became the only living magician to receive a star
on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame. 1996 David broke
Broadway* box-office records with “Dreams and Nightmares.”
