plane tested
CHINA has successfully tested its first pilotless
aircraft that can return safely guided by the Global
Positioning System.The aircraft, made by Ningbo Best Aviation
Technologies Co. Ltd. in Zhejiang Province, successfully
completed test flights in Beijing and Nanchang, Jiangxi
Province.The 2.7-meter-long aircraft, named Divine Eagle I, is
capable of carrying 8 kg of materials at 180 km per hour for
four hours at an altitude of 4,500 meters, the company
said.The aircraft would be used for weather forecasts,
creating artificial rain, land surveying, coastal patrols,
forest fire surveillance, traffic control and other civilian
uses, the company said.But it did not say when the aircraft
would be put into commercial use.Best is also planning to test
