RESCUERS yesterday found the bodies of five student
mountaineers from Beijing University who disappeared while
climbing Tibet’s Shishapangma, the world’s 14th highest peak,
the official Xinhua News Agency said.The bodies were found
about 10 a.m., the news agency said.The students, part of a
15-member team, were last seen alive Aug.7, when they began
their ascent of the western face of the 8,012-meter
(26,200-foot) mountain.State media has reported that they were
swept away by an avalanche.The rescue team comprised members
of the China Mountaineering Association and seven Tibetan
climbers, China Daily said. Bad weather had hampered efforts
