LOMANA TRESOR scored two second-half goals with Alan Shearer
and Nolberto Solano adding the others in the final 15 minutes
as Newcastle hammered West Ham 4-0 Monday in the English
Premier League opener for each side.Newcastle’s lopsided
victory moved the Magpies atop the league on goal difference
after the first round of matches. The victory also capped an
opening weekend in which all six top teams from last season
picked up victories — Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United,
Leeds and Chelsea.West Ham, which created a drab match early
by playing for a draw as the visiting side, was broken down by
a 5-yard strike by Lua Lua in the 61st and his header in the
72nd.Shearer added his in the 76th with Solano, who assisted
on Shearer’s goal, scoring in the 86th.In all results in the
