My Favorite Album

ReviewThis is another jazz album that I really like. The singer, Lisa Ekdahl, was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, where in 1990, she started singing jazz with pianist Peter Nordahl. It’s interesting that her jazz albums are favored by English-speaking nations, while her pop albums are hot only in her homeland. According to the information on the Internet, she has released several records, but Sings Salvadore Poe is the only one I’ve come across.Ekdahl’s voice sounds a little girlish*, but this just adds to her attraction. From the opening track, Daybreak, to the last song, Of My Conceit, she sings adult stories with immature* passion. Though it sounds funny, I have to admit that it works. The best song in my eyes is the spiffy* ballad*, Since You’ve Been Gone. The dulcet* tones of this song pass by your ears and find a home in your heart. By far the strangest track is Only You, which she’s jazzed up with a never-before-heard melody.Rivers of Love is a humorous little ditty* and Rhythm of Our Hearts almost brought tears to my eyes.It is because of Ekdahl’s ability to evoke* so many different emotions that I feel confident suggesting this album. Its 14 tracks tell you about 14 different scenes and there’s definitely a little something for everyone.
