Ever since I was a child I have dreamt of someday
studying abroad. When I was eight years old my youngest uncle
went to America to study. I envied him. He was the first
person in our town to go abroad. He became a celebrity and my
idol. I made up my mind that I would follow in his footsteps.
My father, who knew of my dreams, told me: “If you want to
study abroad as your uncle did you must work hard. It’s the
only way. When you become a grown-up you can realize your
dream. Now you can’t go abroad because you are too young. You
would suffer from the culture shock and wouldn’t be able to
adapt yourself to the differences in social systems, beliefs,
values and ways of life. From now on, you should work harder
than ever.” My boyhood dream and my father’s words have stayed
with me from elementary school through university.I became a
graduate several years ago and I can easily accustom myself to
new places. However, owing to lack of money, my dream is still
just a dream. If I were to one day be able to use magic I
would turn my dream into a fact.
