Official visit

　IRAQI Foreign Minister Naji Sabri left Baghdad Saturday for his first visit to China since he assumed the post last August.

　Sabri is to begin his official visit to China from today at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Tang Jiaxuan. Before his arrival in China, the Iraqi foreign minister will make a stopover in Damascus, Syria.

　Missile export control

　CHINA will tighten control over the export of missiles and missile-related items and technologies to prevent the proliferation of missiles and other delivering systems, according to a set of regulations Xinhua News Agency was authorized to release yesterday.

　Children’s safety week

　A WEEK-LONG campaign urging people to be alert to children’s safety was launched in Shanghai Saturday.The program, which is sponsored by the Shanghai Center for Pediatrics, aims at teaching parents how to safeguard children from the risk of accidents.
