Insurance for airlines
THE government has approved another extension of war and
terrorism risk insurance for Chinese airlines running through
Sept. 24, the official Xinhua News Agency reported Sunday.
The extension was the 11th granted to Chinese airlines
since insurers capped coverage for war and terrorism damage at
US$50 million following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on New
York and Washington.
Environment
A NEW draft law on environmental impact assessments will
ensure examinations of development projects all over China
more closely to prevent pollution and achieve sustainable
development, the China Daily reported yesterday.
Droughts
Severe water shortages are affecting about 2 million
people and one million head of large domestic animals in
drought-hit Shandong Province in East China.
Job fair
FOR the first time, 27 Japanese-funded companies held a
joint fair in Shanghai Sunday to attract Chinese employees.
