ALMOST 10,000 overseas personnel have come to work in
Shenzhen each year in recent years and the number is expected
to further increase now that China is a WTO member, the Daily
Sunshine reported.
Half the overseas employees in Guangdong Province were in
Shenzhen, the paper said.On average, more than 3,000
foreigners and 5,000 Hong Kong and Macao residents were
permitted to work in Shenzhen each year.
They are mostly scattered in international companies,
enterprises involving foreign investment and the service
sector. Some were hired by big State-owned and private
enterprises such as Huawei and Ping An as high-ranking
personnel.
Shenzhen has been encouraging senior technicians and
management professionals from overseas to work in
Shenzhen.Shenzhen has set up service networks at city,
district and township levels to facilitate overseas employees’
