THE reigning “Miss Germany” has won a court battle with
beauty contest organizers, but still seems set to lose her
crown over her objections to rules banning her from marrying
or posing nude. Berlin-based dental assistant Katrin Wrobel
won the contest in January and duly signed a one-year contract
with organizers Miss Germany Corporation (MGC) which has run
42 consecutive national competitions. However, the 24-year-old
later branded the contract immoral and said she could not work
with the firm, which had planned to put her forward as
Germany’s entry in the Miss World competition in Nigeria in
November. On Friday, a Berlin court agreed that Wrobel could
scrap her contract, freeing her to work independently as a
model or a television presenter. MGC was not available for
comment, but its director Ralf Klemmer previously said that if
Wrobel did not agree to the standard contract, her title would
be handed to January’s runner-up.(SD-Agencies)
