Today’s commonly used American expression is “Let’s keep
in touch”...which simply means, let us not lose contact with
each other. Let’s communicate through some form of
correspondence, periodically. E.g.—telephone, fax, e-mail,
letter writing, post card, etc.
SAMPLE script IC: I’m leaving for Malaysia, Thailand and
Singapore tomorrow.M: Really? Are you going alone?C: Yeah
Sweetie! Leaving in the morning, and my assistant, Melody, is
going with me. M: I really envy her having such a nice boss.
(Smile!) I’ll miss you while you’re away.C: That’s mutual.
Send me an e-mail at your convenience, Okay?M: You bet I will.
Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. Let’s keep in touch.
SAMPLE script IIM: It’s my pleasure getting to know you,
Chuck.C: I feel privileged as well, Maggie, knowing you.M:
When are you going back to America?C: I’ll probably go to
Hawaii for Christmas, and I’ll send you a postcard as soon as
I get there.M: Thanks dear! Here is my address. Let’s keep in
touch.C: No problem.
SAMPLE script IIIC: I’m surprised seeing you here,
Savannah. We’ve lost contact since I arrived back to Shenzhen
from America.S: I know!! It’s been almost two years.C: Here is
my mobile phone number. Give me a call when you’re not too
busy.S: Sure thing. Let’s keep in touch.
