FOUR lots of land were auctioned Monday for the development of upmarket holiday resorts and other tourist facilities near Dameisha Beach.

　　The auction fetched a total of 166 million yuan (US$19.92 million), a record price for Yantian District.

　　The combined area of the four lots was 43,173 square meters. The land will be used for luxury hotels, holiday resorts and commercial residential buildings, media reports said.

　　Three of the four lots in the same area were auctioned off as one piece of land. Bidding for these three lots was brisk with a number of bidders raising their plates at least 17 times.

　　The three lots finally went to a company at a price of 106 million yuan. The opening price was 90 million yuan. The land is to the east of Wish Island and adjacent to Wish Lake.

　　Land at a landfill in Shatoujiao was auctioned for 60 million yuan. The land will be used to build a luxury hotel, the first in that area, media reports said.
