THE general manager of a large enterprise within the
special economic zone is allowed an annual salary of more than
500,000 yuan (US$60,242).
Details are contained in a salary guideline for different
posts in the city, which was released Monday by the Shenzhen
Municipal Labor Bureau.
It suggested annual salaries as high as 528,000 yuan for
general managers.
Of the 284 professions, 85 are managerial personnel with
315 salary levels suggested accordingly.
A new graduate holding a bachelor’s degree can earn a
minimum monthly wage of 1,850 yuan and a maximum of 3,900
while monthly salaries for postgraduates can vary from 2,500
yuan to 6,100 yuan, the guideline said.
Shenzhen began publicizing salary guide books for the

demand and supply of labor.
According to the bureau, the guideline is for reference
only and is not an instruction.
