CHINA’S international flights to the U.S. will go ahead
as scheduled today despite some European countries canceling
U.S. flights several days ago.
No Chinese airline has flights bound for the U.S. east
coast. Air China’s flight to the U.S. will land at Los Angeles
on the west coast.
An airline spokesman said that after the Sept. 11
attacks, booking rates in many European airlines dropped
heavily. Some airlines even canceled some flights to the U.S.
east coast.
The U.S. government announced Sept. 5 that it will impose
a flight curfew over New York, Washington D.C., and Somerset
county in Pennsylvania state.
Chinese passengers flying to the U.S., especially those
in transit via the U.S., are reminded that they should
patiently accept various checks. Previously, passengers only
needed to arrive at an airport 30 minutes ahead of schedule
but they now must arrive two hours ahead.
Meanwhile, airline sources warn passengers not to carry
any metal objects, liquid milk or milk power or other white
powder products, nor mention words such as “terrorism attack”,
or “weapon” to avoid any trouble at the time of boarding.
Moon cake gift packs with metal knives and forks will not
pass safety checks.
