The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming. How excited I am! Everywhere I look I see Chinese tradition. Moon cakes and lanterns being sold in stores, for instance. Some people have already begun preparing the festival food and scheduled what they will do for the holiday. People are all talking about the Mid-Autumn Festival, and Shenzhen is full of holiday cheer.

On that special day, old friends might meet after a long separation, and for families it is a time to reunite. If you have a lover, this is the day to show your intentions and introduce him or her to your family.

In this modern society, the Mid-Autumn Festival gives people more opportunities to communicate with their friends and relatives. People become closer and learn more about each others lives. So, how can the Mid-Autumn Festival be thought of as a trifling affair?

I’m looking forward to the festival because I haven’t seen my father for a long time. I really hope he will be able to spend time with me and mum. In the future, I will go abroad to continue to my university’s career. At that time, I will not have more chances to stay with them.
