THE Shenzhen Municipal Government will support
enterprises capable of creating brand-name products.
The news was released at a government organized meeting
of representatives of local enterprises who own products
recognized as “China’s Brand-Name Product.”
The local government is considering four measures to
create a better climate for the development of these
enterprises and foster a group of internationally competitive
big names by the year 2005.
The policies include granting incentives to manufacturers
in the way of loans and funds for innovation and research.
They would also create a joint conference system to
provide the enterprises with guidance and coordination
services.
The policies would also set up a long-term development
scheme and select 50 to 100 potential enterprises from
different industries for further quality upgrading and help
enterprises find more sales channels. The city will encourage
local trading firms and department stores to promote brand
names by making the best use of their sales network.
It is also considering the establishment of an exhibition
and trade center for brand names and opening brand enterprises
for tourists.
Shenzhen has 10 national brands in the nation’s quality
list. They are Konka, Skyworth, Great Wall PC, Great Wall
server, Fiyta watch, Everbright EB watch, Kingway beer,
Taifeng 888 telephone set, Belle leather shoes and Fuanna home
collections. Seven were confirmed by the State’s top quality
control authorities earlier this month.
Local media said the successful development of these
brands was attributed to the city’s advantages in an optimized
market system, ideal investment environment and the proximity
to international markets.
