GZ farmers the richest

　　FARMERS around Guangzhou earned an average annual income of 6,450 yuan last year and were reportedly the richest among Chinese farmers. The farmers take advantage of the scenery to attract tourists to their vegetable, fruit and flower bases.

　　RESIDENCES in Guangdong Province recorded the third highest price in the country to August, closely following housing prices in Beijing and Shanghai. An average residence sells for 3,022 yuan per sqm in Guangdong, up 14 yuan compared with the same period last year.

　　Housing project

　　THE Xinyi Municipal Government is planning a housing project which will move 17,000 farmer families from dangerous riverbanks and mountains to safer places within two years. The plan also includes building armored concrete buildings for all farmers in the mountainous townships of Xinyi within five years.

　　Art expo

　　OVER 70 percent of exhibits have arrived at the Guangzhou Art Museum for the first China Triennium Art Expo to be held Saturday. Art works by top Chinese artists on display will include wash paintings, oil paintings, sculptures, pottery, and digital graphs.
