“Tell me what you want one by one,” said the judge. “You
first,” he told the fat man.
“Could I have some delicious food that I can store and
eat over the next 20 years?” the fist man begged.
“OK, that is easy. I’ll give you some coupons so that you
can change them for the food you want. I think coupons can be
kept easier than food. Do you think so?”
“Now, you,” the judge told the second man.
“Oh, sir. I’d like you to give me the key to my prison,”
said the man.
“Do you mean this?” The judge showed the man a big,
rusted iron key. “OK, I’ll leave it with you,” said the judge
generously.
But no sooner had the judge given the key to the man than
he ordered the guards to: “Change the lock of this man’s
prison at once and give me the new key.”
“Well, what’s your final request?” asked the judge to the
last man. The poor man was very nervous and shy.
“Sorry, sir, could you please give me a chance to become
a good man? I’ll try my best to make myself a useful man.
Please, please do me the favor.”
The judge was shocked by his words and couldn’t say
anything for a moment.
“Yes, I would like to save a person like you. You are
released,” announced the judge.
