RUSSIA (Sept. 21—AP): A glacier (冰川) crashed down a
mountain gorge (山谷) in southern Russia, showering a village
with ice, mud and rocks and leaving as many as 100 people
missing and feared dead in the debris (冰川积聚的碎石).

in Ivory Coast
ABIDJAN (象牙海岸首都阿比让) (Sept. 21—AP) State television of
Ivory Coast said about 270 people have been killed in a
bloodiest-yet (迄今为止最血腥的) military uprising (骚乱).
