THE fast-developing tourism industry in Shenzhen has provided about 30,000 jobs over the past five years.

　　More than 100 hotels, scenic spots and travel agencies have opened business since 1997, making tourism one of the few industries that has attracted a great number of employees.

　　According to statistics, Shenzhen built 76 hotels in the past five years, providing 20,000 jobs. Tourist attractions that were opened during the period provided 3,000-plus jobs. During the same period, more than 20 travel agencies opened 130 branches, attracting about 2,000 employees.
