Theme parks prepare for the National Day holiday

The park will add three new things to its repertoire of programs — an Egyptian Culture Week, an animated reproduction of the flood in Venezuela that occured at the end of last century, and laser show called A World of Fantasy.

The Egyptian Culture Week will include a Nile worship ritual, an exhibition of Pharaoh statues and a photo show A Journey through Egypt.

The weeklong holiday will also witness the commencement of the videotaping of a 52-part TV show entitled The World over the Moon, which, produced by the park, will be broadcast by about 60 TV stations throughout the country. Visitors at the park will not only be able to watch filming, but also participate in it.

On October 5 and 6, the park will hold two mass weddings where more than 200 couples will be married in the same ceremony.

The park will also hold a Family Contest in which contestants are invited to play musical instruments, sing, dance, preform acrobatics, or paint to show off their skills.

Three American magicians will be performing at the park. From among them, Johnason and Sharlot are said to have performed for former U.S. presidents Reagan, Bush and Clinton. Therefore, the park’s brochure calls their performance “a show fit for U.S. president that will be shared by all of our visitors during the holidays.”

“Music out of metal scraps” will be present at the park, with a set of percussion instrument made of metal scraps. Other Chinese folk musical instruments will be used during the concert. A park source said another purpose of using the waste metals was to boost people’s awareness of environmental protection.

The source said that Evergreen Resort, which is much more laid-back and tranquil than other parks in the city, is an ideal place to go and relax.
