By the end of this month, 109 marriages had been recorded by local civil administration bureau, Saturday’s Daily Sunshine reported.

　　Registrations for marriages with foreign nationals are expected to reach a peak over the next few months as is always the case, officials with the bureau were quoted as saying.

　　Based on this evaluation, the number of marriages with foreign nationals will probably surpass 160 in Shenzhen this year.

　　Compared with a few years ago when Shenzheners were seen marrying with foreign nationals from Australia, America and Canada, they are now tying the knot with foreigners from almost every continent and every country.

　　“The trend shows that Shenzheners now have a wider contact with the outside world,” a civil administration official was quoted as saying.

　　Based on the feedback from those who married foreigners, the quality of Shenzheners’ marriages with foreign nationals was very good, the official said. (Hu Zheye)
