THE Land Rover, a strong-selling European off-road
vehicle, made its Chinese debut in an auto show which opened
Sunday in Dongguan.
The four-day auto show has an exhibition space of 20,000
square meters, where over 100 models turned out by auto makers
from home and abroad are on display, including Mercedes-Benz,
Honda, Citroen, Ford and Jaguar.
A local branch of China Construction Bank also set up the
city’s first individual car-purchasing loans center at the
expo, so that buyers could arrange to buy cars on installment
on the spot.
Dongguan is a booming IT manufacturing center in
Guangdong, which is considered to be one of China’s most
important economic powerhouses. Automobile products are
selling well in the city, where 20 in every 100 households
have a car. (Xinhua)
