NORMAN BETTS, minister of Business of New Brunswick,
Canada, considered cooperation with China a win-win one.
“The establishment of the schools will enable Chinese to
share our advantages and experience in the education sector.
“In the same way, Canadians will be able to learn not
only the Chinese language but also the culture,” Betts told a
reception Saturday.
According to Mr. Betts, there was an increasing number of
people in Canada who were eager to learn Chinese and also more
Chinese students were learning English.
“We have a very active e-learning industry in New
Brunswick and I hope our Chinese counterparts can benefit from
our expertise.
“New Brunswick is a relatively small province with a
population of 700,000 people, while China has a huge market
which is growing. That’s why we are here. We see opportunities
in the education sector and information industry.”
Mr. Betts said his province was looking for more places
for further expansion.
“We want to focus here because this is one of the most
prosperous areas in China. This is my first trip to Shenzhen
and I find I like this exciting place very much. I will be
back.”
