BY coincidence, two local hotels have simultaneously
celebrated vintage wines.
The five-star Crowne Plaza Hotel held a Moet &
Chandon Champagne Night last Friday and Saturday, when the
wine was offered in flutes or bottles at a discounted price.
Since the 18th century, Moet & Chandon has been popular
with the aristocracy.
The Shangri-La Hotel presented a Hardys Wine Dinner
Saturday, which was featured by Bill Hardy, a renowned
winemaker and member of the Australian Hardy family, the
originators of a comprehensive portfolio of wine since the
mid-19th century.
Bill Hardy didn’t miss the chance to introduce his
family’s winemaking history and a series of brands such as
Eileen Hardy shiraz and chardonnay, Hardys tintara, VR
cabernet sauvignon and stamp pinot noir sparkling chardonnay.
These vintages are available at the two hotels.
