Screaming for F4

Scream! Scream! Scream! This is not a Hollywood-made movie,
but a real-life scene at the Pepsi F4 blue fantasy premiere
press conference in Hong Kong, August 6. Around 4,000 fans,
together with reporters and photographers from the Chinese
mainland and Hong Kong, gathered in Hall 5 in the Hong Kong
Convention and Exhibition Center, waiting for F4, the hit
Taiwan band, composed of four young and handsome boys. When F4
finally showed up on the stage half-an-hour later, screaming
could be heard in every corner of the hall.Following in the
footsteps of big stars like American sweetheart Britney
Spears, Hong Kong singer Aaron Kwok, and Taiwan
singer/songwriter Jay Chow, the four-boy group has agreed to
be the new product spokesmen for Pepsi. Finally reporters were
given about 20 minutes to interview the four stars.Sitting
quietly in a big couch, they didn’t seem to be as dazzling as
they were on stage. Vic Chow, who is called “Zai Zai (meaning
little boy)” by fans, was particularly shy. Being very kind
and modest, they told the Shenzhen Daily about their attitude
towards money, life and future.Q: Jerry, I have a question for
you. I read an article on the Internet saying that you were
very tired during ad shooting. You had to get up at 5 in the
morning. You once said, “For the sake of money, I would do
anything.” What’s your theory on money?A: Well...I’d just like
to make more money. Without money, I could do few things. With
money, I can do a lot of things. Q: And your attitude on
love?A: I’d love to make more money to make a better life for
my future wife.Q: Are you dating now?A: No. I’m not dating
right now. But I imagine I’ll get married sooner or latter.Q:
You recently suspended your schooling because you have a lot
of work to do. Do you have any regrets?A: Well...I think I
have to do this. Because we four are a team. We need to stick
together. What we’ve always been doing is a team work. Without
me, maybe you won’t see us here tonight. I like to go to
school and study. But I like to act and sing, too. Q: Vanness,
tomorrow is your birthday. What kind of presents do you think
your mates will give you?A: I have no idea. But I would still
be happy without presents since the love and care they give me
is enough.Q: Ken, the fans really like you. Some of them are
crazy about you. What do you think of their idolatry?A: I
thank them for it. It’s great. After we played in Meteor
Garden (a hit TV series), I came to Hong Kong. People threw
roses at me and asked for locks of my hair when I was walking
down the street. One girl even thanked my mother for giving
birth to me.
