Trademark breach costs 150,000 yuan

registered in November last year by a businessman surnamed
Xiao.In July, Noodle King took the defendant to the Shenzhen
Intermediate People’s Court, demanding compensation of 200,000
yuan.Ren Ren insisted the trademark and logo were neither
similar nor identical to those of the chain.However, in the
verdict, the court said the trademark and logo of Ren Ren were
so similar to those of the chain that it would be difficult
for consumers to tell the difference.In addition to paying
compensation, the court ordered the defendant to stop the
infringement.The Noodle King chain, reportedly one of a few
successful Chinese-style fast-food businesses in Shenzhen, now
has 28 stores following several years of fast expansion since
it was founded in 1996.The “面点王” and relevant logo, which are
the registered literal and graphic trademarks, are familiar to
