2 die in road accident

　TWO people died instantly Wednesday when two buses collided on a national highway in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province.

　Four passengers are in hospital in critical conditions while five others were treated and allowed to leave. The buses collided head-on when one swerved across the road into the path of the other.

　Death penalty for burglars

　BURGLARS and those who steal on public transport may face the death penalty in future, officials of the provincial high court said Wednesday at a working conference. Those who steal from the disabled, the elderly and minors, use a motor vehicle in a robbery, or are caught stealing more than three times in a year will be severely punished, with 10 years in jail or even the death penalty.

　Imported car prices to fallWITH the second batch of car importing licenses to be released next week, a fall in the price of imported cars is expected across Guangdong Province.

　The average imported car will sell for 10,000 to 15,000 yuan less after the licenses are released, but the price may soon bounce back, insiders say. Guangdong has always seen a big demand for imported cars. A weakening U.S. dollar this year has seen prices rise for cars from Japan and Europe.
