SHENZHEN Municipal Government will take measures to
spruce up the upcoming annual China Hi-Tech Fair in many ways,
says Wang Jiansu, an official of the organizing committee.
More focus will be put on concluding transactions between
the fair participants, who will be able to make deals not only
during the event but also after it is finished.
The domestic exhibitors will be encouraged to make more
deals with foreign partners.
While there will be more participants for the fair, the
transactions will be raised to a higher level in terms of
technological innovation.
Returned overseas Chinese students will be a highlight. A
series of events will be held relating to them, such as a
Congress of Investment by Returned Chinese Students, a Hi-Tech
Forum and an Exhibition of the Achievements of Start-up
Enterprises by Returned Students.
Wang said the city intends to make the fair a bridge
linking the overseas Chinese students and Shenzhen.
Another area to be highlighted at the fair will be
"start-up ventures". For that purpose, a forum for start-up
enterprises will be held. In a partitioned area of the venue,
foreign institutions and agencies will provide consultations
to domestic companies that wish to get listed in foreign
boards. So, the fair is also aimed to help foreign listings of
domestic hi-tech start-ups.
Another effort the organizers are making is in expanding
the fair's international image. They are using every available
channel to invite foreign exhibitors and spectators to attend
the fair. They are also seeking to work with foreign
exhibition agencies to establish a world-class service system.
The establishment of "a hi-tech fair whose curtains will
never fall" is under way, intending to encourage continuing
transactions after the fair closes. Therefore, the fair
authorities have stepped up their efforts to set up an
Internet-based network specializing in providing service and
transactions through the Internet.
