A FEMALE fan of pop heartthrob Justin Timberlake was
killed by a hit-and-run driver while waiting to see her idol,
authorities said Tuesday.
The ’N Sync singer was making a guest appearance to
promote his debut solo album Justified at a Los Angeles radio
station Monday evening.
Police said Cameron Duty, 23, allegedly had an argument
with one of the crowd outside the station, then got into his
truck and backed into the pavement full of Timberlake fans.
Police spokesman Tim Stehr explains, “The truck,
traveling in reverse at a high rate of speed, struck Anne
White, 21, and pinned her under the vehicle. It then went
forward approximately one block with the victim still under
the vehicle.”
Duty fled the scene, but was later arrested and faces
charges of drink driving, murder, and hit-and-run.
In a statement, Timberlake said he was “horrified to
learn of the senseless death.”
“My family and I wish to express our deepest sympathies
to the family and friends of the victim.”
