SHENZHEN’S Elite Secondary School has introduced Chinese
Language Proficiency Test (HSK) courses to meet growing demand
from foreign children at the school.
According to the school’s international exchange
department, the school enrolled 24 students from South Korea,
Germany and Thailand this term.
“The courses are to enable foreign children to study
Chinese language courses, together with their Chinese
counterparts.”
“In the long run, the courses will help students pass the
national HSK tests and further their studies in Chinese
universities,” said Fang Canyang, a teacher responsible for
the training program.
The courses, which are conducted four hours a week,
include listening, reading and oral Chinese.
In a letter to school principal, Liu Su, a Korean mother,
expressed her thanks, saying the courses had helped build her
son’s confidence in socializing with his classmates.
