GUANGZHOU Science City, which will be completed in three years, will be the city’s most attractive housing estate, according to media reports.

　　With construction starting in 1998, science city has a planned area of 47 square kilometers, south to the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center and east to the Guangzhou Development Zone. It will also be the starting point of the planned fourth subway line. Under a program of the city’s important infrastructure projects, science city will become an important base for the development of photoelectronics and bio-medicine.

　　It will take 15 years to complete the entire project. By the end of June, 3.5 billion yuan had been spent on the development. Science city is expected to have 70 percent green coverage, with drinkable tap water the same as that in Europe.(Wu Yan)
