World toy expo
scheduled
CHINA’S first international toy exposition is scheduled
for Oct. 8-11 in Guangzhou. It will be hosted by the China Toy
Association in cooperation with counterparts in Hong Kong and
Taiwan and a Nuremberg-based toy exhibition company that hosts
the world’s biggest toy fair.
China produces about 70 percent of the toys on the world
market, with its exports worth US$7.58 billion last year.

brand names
GUANGDONG has certified 98 brand names of 94 enterprises
as provincial famous brands, of which 22 are made in
Guangzhou.
The title is valid for three years, after which the owner
must again apply and go through a series of inspections and
evaluations. A total of 276 brand-name applications were made
this year.
160 late for flights
ON the first day of China Southern Airlines tightened
flight schedules, 160 passengers departing from Guangzhou’s
Baiyun airport were late and had to rearrange their flights.
The airline offered them other flights following international
practice.
