SMALL enough to fit into a shirt pocket, today’s PDAs
(Personal Digital Assistant) can handle incredible amounts of
data and turn yours into an electronic book, a travel guide, a
map or remote control for your TV! Use these tutorials to get
the most out of your handheld computer, whether you’re looking
to buy one, you just did, or you want to know which one is the
best for you.
Identify front panel
(Let’s take Compaq iPAQ H3000 Pocket PC as an example.)
1. Stylus and release button: The stylus looks like a pen
and allows you to tap or write on the screen. Push the stylus
release button to eject the stylus from its compartment.
2. Power button: The power button powers your PDA. Press
and release the button to turn it on or off.
3. Speaker: The speaker is equipped to sound alarms and
play back sound recordings.
4. Navigator/action button: The navigator/action button
allows you to scroll through a list, similar to pressing the
arrow keys on a keyboard. Use the navigator to scroll to the
item you want to view. This button can also be used as a game
button in a game application.
5. Application buttons: These buttons allow quick access
to four default applications: the Calendar, Contacts, QMenu,
and QStart. You can change the function of the application
buttons to open different applications.
6. Record button: The record button activates the record
function in Notes. You can change the function of the record
button so that it opens a different application.
7. Microphone: The microphone allows you to record voice
messages. (Part I)
