Israeli police arrest a Jewish extremist trying to enter the al-Aqsa mosque compound in occupied east Jerusalem on Wednesday. Several hundred members of the Temple Mount Faithful group and other ultra-nationalists were denied access to the compound during a demonstration against the US peace proposals, which are believed to involve Israel turning over control of Arab neighbourhoods in east Jerusalem to the Palestinians, along with the mosque compound, known to Jews as the Temple Mount.
