fruit 水果
APPLES, oranges, bananas, grapes, peaches, pears and plums(1) are popular fruit.
A fruit tree bears fruit, so does a person's labour. Generally, a person's hard work will bear rich fruit(2). If your efforts bear little fruit, you must consider if you do things the wrong way. And we all know failure is often the fruit of laziness.
"He that would eat the fruit must climb the tree(3)." A person who wants to gain must first make an effort. It is a shame for a person to think that he may get something for nothing(4).

2. bear rich fruit: 取得丰硕的成果。
3. 要吃水果，就得爬树。指要收获就要有付出。
4. get something for nothing: 不劳而获。
