Greeting new century in Wenling
|
THE over 30 first prize winners at the national essay competition themed around "21st Century, Network and I", nine of them from Shenzhen, gathered at Shitang Township in Wenling City, Zhejiang Province to welcome the first ray of the new century in China.
They were winners chosen from 10 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing and Shenzhen.
The activity marked the successful conclusion of the two-month-long competition held by 10 juvenile gazettes nationwide and e5641.com, a website for young students.
The competition, targeted at schoolers aged between eight and 18, was a good way to popularize IT knowledge and a rare chance to demonstrate students' talent and computer skills. It was conducted in three forms including composition, drawing and web page design.
Contestants doing web page design are required to demonstrate their distinct personal style by co-ordinating arrangement of literary statement, animation and music, which represents their literature and artistic cultivation as well as their aesthetic horizon. The winner was objectively chosen by the clicks of web page visitors. \.;
According to the organizing committee, nearly 100,000 students attended the competition.
