New world record of domino born
|
IN the last few minutes of the 20th century, a new Guinness record of domino was hit in the Yifangyuan Health Club in Beijing when 62 students from China, Japan and South Korea jointly knocked over 3.4 million dominos at one push. The former record was kept by Holland people who piled up 2.97 million dominos.
The scene of dominos falling down one after another was impressing. Piling up the dominos took the students 30 days starting from November 29, but toppling them was completed in just 30 minutes.
Students created beautiful patterns with the dominos, featuring national cultures and world peace. Among the scenes produced were national flags of the three countries, "Happy New Year" written in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, images of monkey king and Guan Yunchang in Peking Opera, Great Wall of China, Japanese ladies and warriors, Korean waist drum. Everyone present at the site found it an amazing world of collages. The biggest pattern took more than 800,000 dominos.
The same moment a year ago, over 50 students from China and Japan renewed that Guinness record by pushing down 2.75 million dominos at one time, which was rewritten by the Dutch last November.
