One-stop service offered
|
AT 7.59am on Monday, the first vehicle of goods being exported under the new declaration system was cleared at Wenjindu checkpoint.
The uncomplicated new procedure now seems significant in its speed and simplicity. Based on the new system, one-stop service is offered, so as to shorten the time-consuming clearance procedure from the original half an hour to one minute for each vehicle.
Long and complicated clearance procedure had robbed Shenzhen Customs of a lot of business. In an attempt to turn the embarrassing inefficiency around, Shenzhen Customs has, in recent years, successively introduced advanced technologies from abroad such as EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and IC card management framework.
To the working staff of the customs, introduction of the new system at the beginning of this year is also a reward for years of research and trialing new methods of streamlining customs procedures.
On New Year's Day, Vice-Mayor Li Decheng also inspected Huangguang checkpoint, which works as one of the three trial bases of the new clearance system in the city.
While showing his respect to the working staff, Li hoped that they could further reforms to keep pace with the city's surging customs clearance businesses.(Winton Dong)
