Passenger flow hits record high
|
SHENZHEN is now gearing up to handle a new record of 1.18 million passengers during the upcoming Spring Festival period. Shenzhen Railway Station will let off a train every six minutes.
The State Railway Ministry designated a 40-day peak traffic period from January 9 to February 17. It is expected that daily passenger flow at Shenzhen Railway Station will reach 11,000 persons before the Spring Festival and 98,000 after the festival.
Railway authorities expect that outgoing tourists will increase by a large number and big convergence of migrant workers and students returning home. All this gives a lot pressue on the railway traffic.
Besides, there is a high density of dispatches of trains between Shenzhen and Guangzhou. In order to cope with the situation the Guangshen Railway Co Ltd has laid out a well-coordinated plan to ensure a quality service.
Adjustment of ticket prices was also announced that the price for long-distance trains will be raised by 20 per cent or 30 per cent and the price for short-distance trains will be raised by five yuan.
