AS Shenzhen is developing toward a sophisticated modern metropolis, legal information is getting in demand. A library devoted to law, reportedly the first of its kind in China, opened two weeks ago on the first floor of Shenzhen Library
The small yet handy library has become not only a professional repository for the city's lawyers and law students but also a good gathering place of professional exchanges.
It is also a place for ordinary people to gain legal knowledge, according to librarians.
More than 5,000 books, journals, yearbooks and newspapers concerning international, criminal, civil, contract, arbitration, administrative and other laws of various countries are collected in the library.
The library also offers access to the Internet and other multimedia information.
