a) spare 闲暇的
这个词从不用做表语。
(1)用于指物体，指不在正常使用中的，或并非立即需用的。
Is there any spare room in your house ?
你的屋子里有空闲房间吗？
(2) 用于指时间，意指从事正常工作或职责以外的时间，即业余而空闲的。
What do you usually do in your spare time ?
你业余空闲时通常都做些什么？
b) free 空闲的
指不忙的，不在使用中的，可用来做其他工作，派其他用场的，可用以指时间与物件，它与spare除意思上的差别外，在用法上的最大区别在于它可用做定语，也可用作表语。
Tomorrow we shall be free the whole day.
我们明天整天都闲空无事。
He is the sort of person who simply can't tolerate himself being free.
他是那种闲不住的人。
Sunday is my spare time, but not necessarily my free time, because I often have to work extra hours.

c) leisure 休闲的
此词大都用于指时间，从不做表语用，意指空闲的，有时间用于休息，娱乐等。
