Inventor to challenge Bill Gates
|
AN invention by US scientist Dean Kamen codenamed “IT” or “Ginger” is regarded as a world-changing invention bigger than the Internet, according to the inside.com. website.
New Hampshire-based Kamen, winner of the US National Medal of Technology, the highest such award in the US, has attracted glowing praise from such technology visionaries as Steve Jobs of Apple, Jeff Bezos and Silicon Valley venture capitalist John Doerr.
“If enough people see the machine, you won't have to convince them to architect cities around it. It'll just happen,” Jobs said after seeing “IT/Ginger”.
One investor, Credit Suisse First Boston, predicts Kamen will be worth more than Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates in five years.
What is “IT”? No one knows but Kamen says it “will profoundly affect our environment and the way people live worldwide. It will be an alternative to products that are dirty, expensive, sometimes dangerous and often frustrating, especially for people in cities”.
The inventor, at a meeting with investors, apparently assembled two “Gingers” in 10 minutes using tools and components from two bags and several boxes. Go figure.(SD-Agencies)
