The Oresund Bridge
|
(Sweden-Denmark)
The Oresund Bridge (厄勒海峡大桥,又称松得海峡大桥) was constructed in 1995.
The 7.8km long Oresund Bridge, which forms an important part of the fixed link between Denmark and Sweden, consists of a cable-stayed high bridge (索拉高桥) and two approach bridges.
The bridges are constructed as a two-level composite steel-concrete structure. The upper deck carries a four-lane motorway and the lower deck carries a two-track railway.
The Oresund Bridge has the longest cable-stayed bridge span in the world carrying both motorway traffic, passenger trains and freight trains.
The Oresund area including the two major cities Copenhagen (哥本哈根) and Malmo (马尔默, 瑞典南部港市) has a total population of approximately three million and counts as Europe's eighth largest economic centre. The completion of the Oresund fixed link in year 2000 is expected to establish a full integration of the region.
