VICE-MAYOR Guo Rongjun says the exhibition area of the Third China Hi-Tech Fair will be enlarged to 49,900 square metres, a 35 per cent increase of floor space over that of the second one.
The Third China Hi-tech Fair is expected to be held in Shenzhen between October 12 and 17 this year.
Guo said at a preparatory meeting of the fair on Saturday that the third fair will still have three aspects: the high-tech exhibition, high-tech products transfer and a high-tech forum.
However, unlike the first two, the third fair will pay special attention to venture capital, exploration of the technology market and the operation system of the new second stock market board.
Guo encourages distinguished guests, governmental institutions, higher learning or research institutes and famous enterprises from home and abroad to attend the fair again.
“With the success of the first two fairs, the annual event has become a showcase of China's high and new technologies and a vital link between China and the outside world in high-tech sectors,” Gou said.
According to statistics, altogether deals for 1,046 projects were signed during last year's hi-tech fair with a total volume of US$8.54 billion involved.
