Regulatory office set up
|
THE China Insurance Regulatory Commission opened a Shenzhen office on Saturday, marking another step in the growth of the city's supervision of its insurance industry.
Previously, the Chinese People's Bank SZ Branch was responsible for supervision and regulation of insurance businesses. Now the work has been transferred to the newly established committee. Vice-Mayor Zhuang Xinyi said at the inauguration that the launch of the office shows that the city now has a complete financial supervision system.
The new committee will be responsible for standardizing insurance business' conduct, maintaining market order, controlling risks in insurance business, fighting violation of law and protecting the rights of the insured.
