Easier access called for
|
A REPORT in a monthly magazine recently published by the Bank of China called for an easier access to Hong Kong for businessmen from Guangdong Province, citing the fact that Hong Kong has become an integral part of the Pearl River Delta economic belt.
The report suggests that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government loosen its control over the issuing of business visas and lengthen the valid period.
The report indicates that the economic co-operation and integration would be in the interest of both regions in the long run. Governments of both sides are advised to co-operate closely for overall planning on economic development and urban construction. And both are suggested to pour in investment for the environmental protection of the Pearl River Delta. (Zhiyong Zhang)
