Knitwear a big hit
|
FASHION is alive and well, even though it's cold outside, with stylish hand-knit sweaters capturing centre stage.
Unlike previous trends, the current sweater craze is mingled with various designs in regard to material selection and the use of colours.
Marten and rabbit fur are incorporated into the design, adding luxurious touches to sweaters. For example, designs by Anna Sui gives an air of raw beauty and confidence while Kenzo from Japan adds rabbit fur mainly on the sleeve and neck bands. And Christian Dior mixes rabbit fur into the knitting, making sweaters softer and warmer.
Diversified colours are boldly applied to the sweater design. Mixing different knitting methods creates quite a cool look. Chanel, another top brand, decorates its sweater with flashy colourful scraps and Kenzo adds decorative fringes made out of cloth strips to its sweater range.(Zhang Zhiyong)
