Beijing gears up for tenors
|
PUBLICITY for the widely anticipated Three Tenors' Beijing Concert, which will be held on June 23 on Wumen Square in the Forbidden City, is in full swing.
Sponsors of the event told reporters that public bidding will be held to canvass financial assistance.
But in case you were hoping to see the show, you might want to reconsider. According to reliable sources, the best seats will cost a whopping US$2,000, while the "cheap" seats will still cost US$200. Despite these prices, though, 15 tickets have already been sold. Branch ticket-booking centres have been set up in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other cities.
The world-renowned three tenors, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, are scheduled to gather in Beijing on June 23, known as Olympic Day, to give what is billed as their first Asian tour.
