Prodigy to head abroad

LI YUNDI, known locally as the “Piano Prince", recently revealed that he will head to Germany in late autumn to study in Hannover University.
Li said that, at present, playing the piano is not simply a matter of skills to him but a calling which demands he further enhance his overall artistic mastery. Therefore when presented with the chance to study in Europe, he happily accepted.
Since his plans are as yet not confirmed, he would not disclose the name of the pianist he is going to study under. He pointed out that giving performances will still be an important part of his studies in Germany.
Li, a student from Shenzhen Art School, won the coveted gold medal at the 14th Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw in October last year.
